Suiker Unie develops, manufactures and markets sugar and sugar specialties. Its factories for the production of sugar in Dinteloord (the Netherlands), Vierverlaten (the Netherlands) and Anklam (northeast Germany) are among the most modern factories in the world. So are the factories in Puttershoek and Roosendaal, which manufacture dry and liquid sugar specialties. Headquarters is located in Dinteloord, the Netherlands.
Over the years, Batenburg IAS has carried out many projects at the factory in Dinteloord. In this factory, the sugar beets are processed to granulated sugar during the annual beet campaign that takes place from approximately mid-September to mid-January. Sugar is sieved according to the desired granule size, stored and delivered to customers in the requested type of packaging, such as kilo packages, bags of 25 kg, big bags or in bulk trailers.
Before the beet campaign begins, improvements and adjustments are always carried out on the system; IAS is often involved in carrying out the adjustments to the existing ABB SattLine system. Projects that we carried out were related, among other things, to the thick juice installation, metal detection in the bulk loading, beet reception and the tail press.
