Reliable software that can be quickly generated

Van Aalst Marine & Offshore

Van Aalst Marine & Offshore based in Dordrecht specialises in the design and supply of pneumatic systems for the loading and unloading of dry materials such as cement and barite to and from, for example, drilling platforms.

The challenge
Short lead times and very limited commissioning times require reliable software that is quick to configure and easy to put into use. The system also has to be easy to handle during operational use.

Result
On the basis of the Schneider M340, Batenburg JB Systems developed software which enables the software to be automatically generated using the engineering list supplied by Van Aalst. The right HMI screen is also generated from the PLC code by making use of “typicals”.

In addition, Batenburg JB Systems developed a new intuitive HMI (Human Machine Interface) that is coordinated to the users in terms of operating philosophy. Batenburg JB Systems specialises in User Interface Design for industrial installations.

Automation transport system for "Non Conveyable Goods"
Batenburg JB Systems realised the automation for this installation in very close collaboration with all parties involved. This installation consisted of a redundant PLC system from Rockwell with a redundant ControlNet network.
Hil-simulation Pilegripper
Batenburg JB Systems realized a HIL-simulation of the complete system. The simulation consists of dynamic models of the hydraulic and mechanical system and a functional simulation in Winmod to validate the PLC program.
